Shorty Rogers

Ok folks this is a first for me !...heard the name but never heard anything by this swing band!.....so another one from the 50's 1954 to be presise

Milton "Shorty" Rogers (April 14, 1924 – November 7, 1994) was one of the principal creators of West Coast jazz. He played trumpet and flugelhorn and was in demand for his skills as an arranger.
After the early 1960s Rogers stopped performing on trumpet, and left the jazz scene for many years. Among other composing and arranging activities, he arranged a series of records for the Monkees (including "Daydream Believer") in the late 1960s, and in the 1970s wrote the jazzy background score to TV's The Partridge Family during the show's first season. He also contributed episode scores for the fourth season of Starsky & Hutch.

Peggy Connelly

Another great voice from the 50's in fact this was recorded in "Hollywood" in 1956 !!....Music tastes do change and I guess there are many singers that are out there today that could equal voices like these "Lost & Forgotten" ones but where are they !! and why are they not promoted by the "Music Moguls" !!!...still they do say that "Music & Fashion" tastes do come round again eventually !!!

Connelly was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She had a career as a singer and actress, starting with local dance bands (the first Harvey Anderson's) in the Fort Worth-Dallas area. In 1956 she recorded an album of standards, Peggy Connelly with Rusell Garcia – That Old Black Magic, for Bethlehem Records, reissued by Fresh Sound on Russell Garcia's Wigville Band. She also recorded two albums with The New Christy Minstrels.
She moved to Europe in the early 1970s and worked as a single act until the mid-1990s, when she, Sarah Tullamore and Wendy Taylor formed a trio called The Jazzberries. The Jazzberries played extensively in Paris and throughout Europe until they disbanded in 2000.

Eydie Gorme

Here's an Eydie Gorme that I missed on Vinyl !!..got it on CD and thanks to John over the pond I can now see if there is any difference in the sound !!....of the L/P's that I have and also got them on CD's the Vinyl always seem to be a better sound....I suppose that if it was a straight transfer from L/P to CD there might be not much difference ..But they always seem to fiddle with the knobs and sliders to make it sound better !!

Clinton Ford (4 November 1931 – 21 October 2009) was an English popular singer of the 1950s and 1960s.He began his recording career as Clinton Ford with the Oriole record label, changing his name because his own did not fit some of his American songs. He performed skiffle in the Backwoods Skiffle Group and recorded some unsuccessful singles with the Hallelujah Skiffle Group. He appeared at the Royal Albert Hall, and with Ken Dodd on Dodd's television shows. He also appeared in Stars and Garters, The Billy Cotton Band Show, and The Good Old Days.Ford had his first success with a cover of the Red Foley song "Old Shep", which appeared on the chart in 1959. Ford donated all his royalties from this recording to the Guide Dogs for the Blind. It was the only version of the song ever to chart in the UK. His next singles were "Too Many Beautiful Girls" followed by "Fanlight Fanny" which was his most successful single, reaching 22 in the UK Singles Chart in March 1962. His album Fanlight Fanny (1962) reached number 16 in the UK Albums Chart. He toured with Kenny Ball & His Jazzmen and played at the Cavern Club in Liverpool around the time that the Beatles were starting to become popular.
