Nice to get some British Big Band Sounds !!....This is the Heath band at its best some great knockout tracks exactly as I remember seeing the band many many times and its made the journey over the Pond !!..to be bought back here !!...thanks John for this great memory !!

King Pleasure & Annie Ross

Another great pairing !!.Pity they don't sing together ! Or do they ? !!...The "King" does his thing as well as "Queen Annie" does hers !!!....both of them are classic singers of "Vocalese"

 King Pleasure (March 24, 1922 – March 21, 1981) was a jazz vocalist and an early master of vocalese, where a singer sings words to a famous instrumental solo.

A compilation of hits from a group from the 60's.....Cheers Bob for the nostalgia !!
 The Equals were a British pop, R&B and rock group that formed in North London, England in 1965. They are mainly remembered for their million-selling chart-topper, "Baby, Come Back". Eddy Grant, at times sporting dyed blond hair, founded the group. Completing the original line-up were John Hall, Pat Lloyd, and twin brothers Derv and Lincoln Gordon.

I wonder why "Swing Jazz Bands" went out of fashion in the 70's ???....Harry James Band at its best !! 

 For those of you fortunate enough to have this old LP of Harry James, "One Night Stand" you have the very best of James and his orchestra. Yes, there were recordings that were more popular, more famous. But this was the best jazz, the finest of the big band and yes, a fine example of Harry at his solo best.

Once again a great singer who seems to have disappeared this was recorded in 1968 if I can remember she was on TV a few times and the radio....It seems that we have had quite a few realy good singers in the 60/70's that we don't hear anymore now which is a pity because she has a good voice...best track title track"Sneakin' up on you"...with "Why can't I Go To Him" a close second..
