  4. Ralph had a minor hit in 1960 using the monicker Big Doll with a tune called "Swingin' Preacher" - HMV POP 718. As as schoolboy at Willesden School of Engineering, I would visit the Poly Cafe just over the road and play this number on their jukebox - we escaped there to avoid the dreaded sports and games lessons and the sadist PE teacher (ex-Army). We did not accept that mucking about in a gym or booting balls around a muddy field were any part of our (engineering) education and boycotted the lessons. Also on site was the School of Building and the School of Art. We were very interested in the art school, and the young rumpo who attended - particularly Anne Craig, a very well appointed young lady who was generous with her favours in the woodwork shop during the lunch period. Thanks for the Dollimore repost. Cheers.
