  1. I have owned a copy of this magnificent album since it was first released back in 1968. Phil was a somewhat tortured soul and ended up taking his own life in 1976. Coming to the fore during with the emergence of the counterculture in 60s America, he was (in many ways) a unique figure. His whole catalogue is well worth exploring, and for those interested there is a 1990 biography entitled "Phil Ochs: Death of A Rebel" written by Marc Eliot. It may well be out of print, but secondhand copies can be found on eBay and Amazon. A major new work is scheduled for May 2018 publication by Michael Schumacher (no, not that one) with the title "There But For Fortune: The Life of Phil Ochs". On CD, Elektra Records released a good 3CD overview back in 1997 - "Farewells and Fantasies" which is a good introduction, again this is probably out of print, but secondhand copies are around. Thank you for posting this Luigi.

  2. He definitely was innovative, as well as cooly creative. His brother, Michael became wealthy as recognizing the benefits of preservation of classic photos & recordings of the Pop era community.
