John's record store in New York certainly has some great L/P's of singers that are out of the usual popular singers I for one have not heard of her but the voice is great pity she did not manage to get over her troubles !!..what a waste of talent
For several months she toured with Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey before returning to New York, where she sang in clubs with George Shearing, Don Elliott, and Kai Winding. From 1956–1960, Kenney recorded six albums, three for Royal Roost and three for Decca. Her first album, Beverly Kenney Sings for Johnny Smith (1956), was recorded with the quartet led by jazz guitarist Johnny Smith. She then began a residency at the Birdland jazz club accompanied by the Lester Young Quintet.
Kenney attempted suicide twice and then succeeded the third time with a combination of alcohol and Seconal on April 12, 1960.

Malcolm Roberts
Now then !!...if you like big Power Ballads that has the power ending notes ! then this could be the one for you... A great selection of songs sung by an English Singer from the 70's that should have been more successful than he was....He did have a minor hit in England and maybe other countries as well with "Love Is All"....no doubt I might be informed about that which I will welcome any comments about it !!....There are two tracks on this L/P that don't sound like him...I can only assume that they maybe old tracks that have been included to make up the track numbers....it's a good exercise in a way because it shows how much his voice has improved....and both of the tracks are Directed by a different person to the rest.....Anyway give it a listen and leave me a comment to say what tracks I am on about.....Just a little "Music Trivia" Game !!!!..........
This L/P came from Bob...I did have it but I lent it out to friends...it was requested for re-posting by Albert.. Bob saw the comment sooooooo here it is !!...Thanks Bob !!

Carmen McRae
Here's a great Singer
Carmen Mercedes McRae (April 8, 1922 – November 10, 1994) was an American jazz singer. She is considered one of the most influential jazz vocalists of the 20th century and is remembered for her behind-the-beat phrasing and ironic interpretation of lyrics. McRae was inspired by Billie Holiday, but she established her own voice. She recorded over sixty albums and performed worldwide.
Back in New York in the early 1950s, McRae got the record contract that launched her career. She was voted best new female vocalist of 1954 by DownBeat magazine. Among her most interesting recording projects were Mad About The Man (1957) with composer Noël Coward, Boy Meets Girl (1957) with Sammy Davis, Jr.
McRae sang in jazz clubs throughout the United States—and across the world—for more than fifty years. She was a popular performer at the Monterey Jazz Festival (1961–63, 1966, 1971, 1973, 1982), performing with Duke Ellington's orchestra at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 1980, singing "Don't Get Around Much Anymore", and at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1989. She left New York for Southern California in the late 1960s, but appeared in New York regularly, usually at the Blue Note, where she performed two engagements a year through most of the 1980s....( Info Edited From Wikipedia )
