Tex Beneke & His Orchestra

Big Band sounds now !!....this one features well known tracks first peformed by the Glenn Miller Band ! and I do believe that this maybe the same band but of course not the same recordings....Tex Beneke took over the leadership of the band after Glenn's disapearance so I guess this is where the "Reunion" title comes in !!!!....Thanks John for this one !!......Seems like we have a Double Moonlight Cocktail's... glad they did'nt slurr the words on the second attempt !!..............After listening to this one a couple of times these tracks could be the original Glenn Miller Tracks !!

The name Tex Beneke is inevitably linked to that of Glenn Miller, despite the fact that Beneke outlived Miller by over a half-century. As the most popular member of Miller's pre-World War II orchestra, featured on songs such as "Chattanooga Choo Choo" and "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree," Beneke became a major fixture in the popular culture of the period, and following Miller's death in December of 1944, and the re-formation of the Glenn Miller Orchestra after World War II, he accepted the offer to lead the new band.
